Trip in our Cameron: Shark Bay, WA

Brett and Kim have an customised camper with boat & bike rack (see below). Note the camper being picked up from the transport company below!

I have attached a few pics for you. The ones of the camper by the river are at the Galena Bridge over night stop at the Murchison River, the one at the "white" caravan park is at Denham, and the grassy one is at Leeman on the way back to Perth. We were going to take it out to the National Park for a few days on the beach, but the winds were really strong, and when they stopped it was stinking hot, and there is not a tree to be seen for hundreds of kilometres. So I would suggest you go after March when the winds are gone, and it is not so hot as the vegetation does not give any shade or protection from the elements. We did a day trip out there, and while the road is extremely soft in places, (the 'red dirt' pic) we feel we would have been able to pull it through. There were 2 other campers at one of the beaches, both lots of people said it is a struggle to get through, but still possible. The signage at the start of the NP suggest no campers over 1 tonne or with brake assist, not sure why, might be a good idea to do a day trip yourself and assess the road at the time. There are a few very accessible stops on the way to Denham right on the beach, but the wind was blowing too much for it to be a comfortable stop, so we caved in and stayed at the Blue Dolphin Caravan Park. We have put up with lots of wind in Geraldton, so didn't want to do it on holidays too! It is very nice but if you don't like crowds, don't go to Monkey Mia! I have attached a couple of links I checked out when I was doing my homework.

We have been living in our camper for 10 months now. We find the camper spacious and comfortable and have lots more room than most caravans to move around inside.
