Our patented Easy tent top is especially designed to be easy to use and only takes seconds to set up and pack up. No pegs needed and even a 7 year old girl can do it! This unique patented design is only available on our Cameron camper trailers and Cameron Slide On Campers.
I have damaged my zip/slider/mesh/canvas on my Cameron Camper, can you repair it?
Yes, the price will depend on the type of repair required and also the model of the Camper. It is helpful to send us a photo of the damaged item and whether it is an Australian made product. The zip is the teeth and the slider is the pulley.
My Camper is leaking and/or has mould damage. How can I restore it?
If your Camper is new, it may leak the first few times it is out in rain due to the stitching not yet “taking up” in the needle holes. We always recommend wetting down your Camper before use. This process will need to be repeated 2 to 3 times before your canvas will be water proof. If your Camper is older and has developed leaks or is taking in water, check out our accessories page for a range of products we stock that can restore water proofing and remove mould.
My Camper internal hoop bar is damaged, can we replace it?
Yes. Refer to your Tent Pole diagram sheet given at handover and locate pole ID number. Email us a photo of the damaged pole and the pole ID number and we can post the replacement pole to you.
We brought a Cameron and would like to touch up the paint work on our trailer.
What accessories/options can I add to my Cameron Camper?
There are many accessories available, stone guards, kitchen and/or storage boxes, cooker and hot plates, etc. We can also provide annexe walls to your existing roof awning to make an enclosed room and this can be posted out to you. You can also upgrade from a camper trailer soft road cover to a framed dust cover for a free standing awning. If you have the extra room provision on your camper trailer, we can add an room/ensuite. If you would like prices, please contact us.

What is the difference between the Classic and Easy tent top?
The Classic tent top is a tent with an original peg and pole design. This tent top requires pegs and guy ropes, takes only minutes to set up and requires 2 people to set up and pack up. The Classic annexe requires pegs and poles to set up. The Easy tent top is an easier to use patented innovative design that incorporates a range of features designed to make camping even easier and more comfortable. No pegs and poles is needed, has better styling, better water run-off and all the framework is internally incorporated, meaning you can start camping or sleeping in seconds. The Easy tent top is an easy one person operation. and has a wider ‘D’ door, is more sturdy and stronger and comes with an internal shelf. The Easy annexe is the easiest to get on and off and requires no guy ropes.
What are the bearings on my old Cameron Camper?
It is almost impossible to say without inspecting the bearings fitted. For instance, early trailers with 45mm axles, not just our camper trailers, tended to be fitted with Holden wheel bearings and hubs. Later models tended to be fitted with Ford wheel bearings, however this can vary depending on the supplier and what hubs the original customer specified. A similar situation exists with the 50mm axle hubs. They use a more specialised bearing which can vary considerably in specification. They can be tapered or parallel bearings with plain or marine seals and of varying diameters. Cameron Canvas can inspect your wheel bearings and replace them with the correct bearings from our stock or with special order bearings if necessary. Alternatively you can remove the bearing and take them to a bearing supplier who will identify the bearing and supply a replacement.
Can a extra room (room extension) be added to my existing Cameron camper?
Yes, if you have the provision on the camper tent end wall. How do I know? Does the end wall have velco or zips? Otherwise send us a photo of the end wall and we can provide a quote.
What is a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)?
All trailers must be identified by means of a 17 character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN to be used is specified by the International Standards Organisation, known as an ISO VIN. Trailers must be marked with the VIN in accordance with the ADRs. Most registering authorities require a VIN to be stamped onto a substantial part of the trailer (i.e. the drawbar) for registration purposes. It is recommended that a secondary VIN also be provided. If it doesn’t have a VIN plate don’t buy it. The trailer may be stolen, never registered, illegally made or never intended to go on road.
We recently purchased a second hand Cameron camper, can we add to it?
Congratulations on your purchase. Yes, you can add an new awning, annexe, walls and kitchen boxes as well as various miscellanous camping items. If you provide us with as much information as you can i.e. your tent or trailer size (width, height, length) and a photo of the camper, we can assist you with this.
What shockers do you recommend?
Cameron Camper trailers prior to 2015 were fitted with Monroe gas shockers. Most suppliers stock these.
Can we add to my Cameron Camper a awning or walls if interstate?
Yes, you do not need to bring your camper trailer on our premises. For a small cost, we can send you the zips and instructions to mark out your own awning and return to us with measurements required. We custom make and send to you anywhere around Australia.
How does one know if the camper trailer is Australian made?
Unfortunately, a number of imported camper trailers claim “100% Australian designed and built”, “Proudly Australian owned” or “Australian made and owned”, so it is not easy for the customer to determine the country of origin. All Australian made tents have a “care for canvas” label provided by the Australian canvas manufacturer sewn into the tent.
Replacing my camper trailer road cover (doesn’t have to be a Cameron as we do most brands)
Please contact us so we can arrange measurements etc. We can then make the camper trailer road cover according to your sizes and post it out to you anywhere in Australia.
